Our public lectures are informative social evenings with a selection of speakers talking on a diverse range of astronomy and spaceflight related topics.

Free refreshments are provided, and a raffle with a selection of prizes is held at most meetings.

Event Times

Doors open at 7.30pm with the talk starting at 8.00pm. Events usually conclude between 9:30pm and 10:00pm depending on the speaker’s stamina.

Cost and Booking

There is no need to book in advance, just turn up on the day. A small charge applies to help us cover costs – £3 for non-members; £2 for members; under 16s free.

Suitability

Anyone is welcome, beginner or expert. The lectures are suitable for older children and adults. Younger children are welcome but may not find the lectures particularly exciting. Instead, we’d recommend bringing them to one of our star gazing events at Great Notley Country Park. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Disabled Access

The hall accessible to wheelchairs and mobility scooters. There is a tarmac parking area in front of the hall and a grassed overflow parking area to the rear.
