There is nothing quite like the feeling of seeing your first astro-image of the Moon, a planet or a faint nebula or galaxy appear on the screen. Knowing how to get started can be a daunting prospect though, with so many things to learn and lots of off-putting technical jargon. Never fear, you’ve come to the right place and we’ll do our best to guide you clearly and simply through your first steps on the journey.
We are in the process of creating a number of short guides that cover the basics of the equipment and software you’ll need, how to use them to capture good images and how to process them to best effect. Don’t forget to visit our Imaging Wednesdays page for comprehensive list of available equipment, software and other learning resources. If you’re a member of North Essex Astronomical Society, come along to our Imaging Wednesdays Zoom meeting and we’ll do our best to help complete beginners and more experienced imagers alike. (Details in the weekly email newsletter).
